Yeah, I think his issue is more the fact that she's 18 (and he isn't)
than the age difference per se.  My lover is 10 years older than I,
and I'm 28.  The difference in our ages now just doesn't matter too
much, though occasionally we can discern different goals or outlooks
on situations.  It's more interesting than it is a problem.  The gulf
between 18 and 28 is much wider, and so is certainly a concern, though
I'd not let that stop me from giving it a try.
