Unfortunately the sides were a little unbalanced. Two people expressed dissatisfaction with the space station, claiming the money could be used elsewhere, and the possibility of the station becoming a center for defense systems. The countless others who mailed in were all for the space station. Some proposing elaborate and debatable ideas, while others just simply said YES. The view this newsgroup as a whole seems to be overwhelmingly for the space station. However, this cannot be viewed as the opinion of the majority of the citizens of the U.S.. It is only the tally of the active members of this newsgroup. The final tally: ~73 to 2
