By the way, I agree that those with no sense of humor have no right whatsoever discussing the Mets OR the Cubs. Let us Mets and Cubs backers gloat early!!!! The only difference is, when the New York fans (read Jerseyites also) get through gloating over the Mets, they have no further recourse but to sit back and wait for the football season to provide them with more letdowns. We Chicagoans have (of late) the White Sox to gloat about, and by the way, the only reason Seaver is starting right now is because Britt Burns asked to be put in the bullpen. The correct thing to be done with the best pitching staff in baseball is to have Cy Young award winner Lamarr Hoyt, Richard Dotson, Floyd Bannister (Those three compiled a 34-3 record after the all-star break last year), and Britt Burns starting with Seaver in long relief (Koosman's job last year) and Ron Reed, Salome Barojas, and Juan Agosto sharing the short relief. By the way, the difference between the Mets and the Cubs is hitting and Lee Smith. Also, the Cubs starters look pretty good so far but this fan doesn't hold out much hope for anything but a possible first division finish (if they're lucky).
