I don't know if this is the same thing as it's port of registration. It's pretty interesting - I never noticed that there was writing on the plaque. ST is full of subtleties like that, though. Anyone ever listen to the background chatter that can almost always be heard on the bridge? I wonder who recorded that chatter - was it actually always relevant to the operation of the Enterprise?
