You get there by ferry from Fyn, which you get to by ferry from Zeeland, where Copenhagen is. I spent a weekend there a few years ago, and stayed in the tiny Hotel Harmonium, run by a nice couple. The wife does the cooking, and when she does ethnic dishes she dresses up in the appropriate costume to serve dinner to the guests. One can bicycle around the whole island in a few hours. If you drive, you have to make reservations on the Fyn-Aero\sko\bing ferry. Highly recommended if you want to make an excursion from Copenhagen and still stay in Denmark.
