Popular music? Well, the opening of the toccata is used to open almost every grade-B haunted-house movie I have had the misfortune to see. What an injustce! The T&F in d is one of the most exuberant and inspiring pieces of music I know. Now if you want haunted music, there is Mahler's first symphony. Or how about Ive's Three Places in New England ...
