Properly written code should have no trouble with the Pyramid's
word access restriction.  I had to hack the Emacs MLisp compiler
to make it proper, but even its byte-stream code works properly
on ours.

All we need now on our Pyramid is source (so we can fix all the
4.2 bugs) and a faster disk interface.
