Lines: 14 I recently purchased a Sony SL-2500, the top of the line model prior to its being made obsolete (soundwise) by the Beta Hi-Fi models. While I have no complaints as to the recording or playback features of this machine, it seems to make an inordinate amount of noise while playing/recording. I've had it in the shop three times and the technicians assure me that all 2500s are that way. (One actually went further to say that all front-loading VCRs are noisier than top-loading machines.) He also told me to remove it from atop my console t.v. because the vibrations may be accentuating the motor noise. This didn't help. I have several friends who own front-loading VCRs; none of them are, however, the same model as my own. Thus, I ask you, does any of this sound reasonable? Are there any owners of SL-2500s out there with similar problems w/noise? -- Jay Elvove ..!seismo!umcp-cs!jay
