Homebrewer that I am, I still often make forays into the world of wines--not that I love the beer less, nor the wine more, etc. But I just ran into one that truly deserves notice. Most of you are probably aware that the heir to Taylor vineyards lost all rights to his name when he sold out. Thereafter, he started another vineyard called Bully Hill. Now, let's get one thing straight. This man is strange. (Strange in a way that I like, but still strange) And his latest offering proves it. Ready? Bully Hill Vineyards 100% New York State Space Shuttle White Wine vintage 1982 - dry - Yep. Not only that, but the label is a painting--by this guy--of the Columbia III shuttle flight of 22 March, '82. But the fun really begins on the back label. Just to excerpt the best parts--not that those I've skipped aren't (you could drink the whole bottle while reading the label): "WARNING: Even though wine has been used by humans for over 4,253 years, irresponsible use of this product could be harmful. 'Noah...proceeded to plant a vineyard.' Genesis 9:20" "The artwork on the front label is the work of the owner of Bully Hill who cannot legibly use his name or heritage on this design because of U. S. Federal Court action." And the fun ends when you pull the cork, and read--his coat off arms? Nope. Apparently, the Bully Hill motto: WINE WITHOUT GUILT --------------- BULLY HILL VINEYARDS Dave Ihnat ihuxx!ignatz
