I don't see anything open about private mailing lists and I don't want to be on one. In fact they are so closed that I can't see *any* part of them. Excuse me if I can't be very sympathetic about it. It would be different if one was in physical danger but I don't believe that is the case here. If you are confident about what you believe and if you are not afraid of criticisms, why are you running away? If the answer is that a bunch of jerks! with destructive comments make it unpleasant for you, then welcome to earth! I am sure what you are doing is exactly what they want.
