What if two male firefighters were working together and one was slower than
the other?  Or all these "teams" matched for speed?  How about pairing
the speedier women with the speedier men and the slower men with the slower
women.  My point is that "separate but equal" in this case (and in most if
not all situations where men and women are working the same job) is not
only NOT equal, but is unecessary.  Sexual segregation would merely extend
the "token woman" situation, and would delay the acceptance of women
as equals in the workforce.
