Whenever the check appears beside grid on the menu, the following effects should be noticeable: 1. In the rectangle selection mode, the endpoints you can chose are only allowed to map to the grid points. The grid points appear to be exactly eight pixels apart. 2. When drawing lines, the endpoints are only allowed to fall on grid nodes. 3. In any mode where framing is based on rectangles or endpoints must be specified, these points get mapped to a grid node. The ellipse, rectangle, and polygon modes all exhibit this behavior. If you don't notice these effects, then you have a different version than I. I have used grid extensively and had no problems with it. Kurt
