The best (only) documentation is my thesis, available from Stanford Computer Science Dept as STAN-CS-82-959 or from University Microfilms. Until it gets to be a hassle, copies of CHISEL will be free. Simply send me a 2400' mag tape, and I'll return a 1600bpi tar format tape. The main changes to CHISEL since the thesis are design-rule files to provide technology independence, and separation of c-utilities from VLSI-specific extensions. Some parts of CHISEL are still not complete/correct. In particular, the automatic wiring routines have not been updated to use the improved algorithm for determining wiring order, nor are they technology-independent.
