     Being an owner of a tape deck for many years, I would recommend
cleaning your tape decks heads and rollers with alcohol and a Q-Tip.
My Nakimichi has performed faithfully under these circumstances
for the last 8 years.  I would also recommend demagnetizing the heads
frequently also.
