Lines: 10 The big problem with most of the demagnetizer in a cassette shell units is that they don't demagnetize the capstans and the tape guides. However, the Discwasher unit (according to the "Stereo Review" review of it) does demagnetize capstans and guides. If you have an open-reel deck, or can't get the Discwasher unit, you can always use the traditional hand-held demagnetizer, BUT BE SURE TO REMOVE IT FROM THE DECK SLOWLY BEFORE TURNING IT OFF or you'll do more harm than good.
