I am talking about $100+ units that can give you gas mileage, miles to go on this tank, gallons left, etc. Some also give outside temp, voltage and so on. Are these things just gadgets or do they really have practical value. Are they reliable? I have only seen one article that wasn't an ad (Consumer Reports I think) and they couldn't decide if they were really worth it.
