Yes. While living in europe, I bought a motorcycle, and I discussed the purchase (before buying) with BMW dealers in several countries. The dealer in London pointed out that for driving on the continent and in the U.S.A. I would have to replace the headlight lens (BMWs do not use sealed-beam headlights).
