I recently bought  an  Escort  (radar  detector)  and  I  am
pleased  with  the  results so far.  I am considering remote
mounting for it, but I ran into one little snag:

           HOW DO I GET THE *#$@&%* THING OPEN???

My guess is that I have to  pry  off  the  plastic  trim  on
either the front or the back of the thing, but I hate to try
unless I'm sure I know what I'm doing.  Has anyone out there
successfully  opened  an  Escort without destroying it?  Any
advice on remote mounting would be greatly appreciated.
