Lines: 35 The local Volvo dealer has suggested that I consider buying a DL sedan he is getting with a commercial (Taxi) package. Here are some of the differences: 1) vinyl seats (-2 points) 2) rubber mats instead of carpet on floor (-2 point) 3) full-size spare tire (+2 points) 4) heavy duty alternator and battery) (+3 points; I might install a ham radio). 5) "Turbo" suspesion package - front and rear stabilizers plus gas shocks. (??? points?) 6) misc: remote trunk opener; oversize interior light; better tires, I think. (+1 point) Well, if nothing else, it'll be unique. I have two questions: 1) Is this a disguised treasure? I can handle a spartan interior if the car will really last alot longer. 2) Will the upgraded suspension make the car more "bouncy"? The desciption for the gas shocks is: "Unique design provides for a comfortable ride during normal street driving, but becomes progressively firmer the more they are used." I don't understand this; does this mean after three years or so the car will become stiff over bumps? Supply of Volvo DLs is tight here in D.C., so a big point in this car's favor is that it'll be here soon, rather than two months. The dealer is supposed to get the car in a couple days, so maybe a test drive will tell more about #2.
