Aside from the fact that it gives neither a map nor road numbers, it describes a route so strange that I had to go to a map to figure out what they're talking about - and I've lived around here for 32 years! One part of the trip takes you over a road that's only open from Memorial Day to Labor Day (even that, only in a good year) - but no mention of that fact, nor do they mention the altitude there - over 12,000 ft. A part of what they call a "loop" is most likely an 82-mile backtrack. One of the picturesque towns you're supposed to watch for is actually five miles off the route, on an Interstate. The penultimate leg takes you down a road where bicycles are prohibited. <> Whose side are these jerks on, anyway? If they're trying to screw up somebody's cycling vacation, they've made a damn good try at it!<> If anyone out there in netland saw the article and/or is interested in planning a cycling vacation in Colorado, I'm willing to offer suggestions and info - based on real experience. Email questions, please. -- ...Cerebus for dictator! Dick Dunn {hao, ucbvax, allegra}!nbires!rcd (303) 444-5710 x3086
