Allen's book, "The Complete Book of Bicycle Commuting". It covers many of the same things that will be found in John Forester's "Effective Cycling", and many of the things in the League of American Wheelmen's Effective Cycling program, but is better written than Forester's book (at least, better written than the original edition - MIT is about to release an updated edition), and is available where no Effective Cycling instructor can be found. Allen's book covers most of the other topics that everyday cyclists need to know. It is based on his series of articles for *Bicycling* magazine. -- Bill Jefferys 8-% Astronomy Dept, University of Texas, Austin TX 78712 (USnail) {ihnp4,kpno,ctvax}!ut-sally!utastro!bill (uucp) utastro!bill@ut-ngp (ARPANET)
