When the Bell Tourlite came out, I decided to get one, heat or not. I've been wearing it two summers now (going on three). It's as cool as the Skid-Lid, in my opinion, and I feel much better now. About a year ago I convinced my wife to trade her Skid-Lid in on a Tourlite too, and she has had no complaints as regards the heat. (She actually does more heat-of-the-day biking than I do). My wife and I have found no discomfort wearing full-face helmets in 90+ weather; the helmets have lots of insulation, and our heads are cooler than if exposed to the sun. Of course, we have engines to do the work, so we are generating a lot less body heat, but given the alternative (head injury), our decision is to use the best (maximum protection) helmets available -- always, and without exception!
