They seem to wear together, and if you replace one because of excessive wear, you have to replace the other. I think the only folks who could get around this would be people who use several freewheels at different times on the same bike. Thought I'd try a 6-speed gear this time, replacing my old 21/14 5-speed gear with a 24/13 job, to be used with a 52/40 chainwheel. I'll post a review after I've put some miles on it.
