I am looking for a good basic text on LSI or VLSI.  The text should
explain the pros and cons of various methods of integration,
limitations of the methods, common design precautions, etc.  In other
words, it should be a guide to an analog or a digital engineer without
LSI or VLSI experience to be used as an aid in the realization of
several circuit designs in LSI form.

Please reply by mail.  (I will gladly post a list of recommended books
if there is enough interest.
