Washington, Computer Sci Lines: 65 Say, I'm a little early this week! Well, anyway.... THRILLER #9: "Number 9, Number 9, Number 9..." If this is how Thriller is going to continue after Fleming & Von Eeden, then I say, LET it die! SILVERHEELS #3: Another one headed for the scrap heap; I regret its departure, but only due to the fact that its backup features are excellent. Jaime Hernadez (Love & Rockets) does some of the best writing, art, and humor anywhere out there... this issue begins a new story for him, and I hope to Goodness they move it somewhere else. I also like the "Flan" series by Ken Steacy (he has a great cameo in this issue) and Bruce Jones; Steacy's art is always good, and Jones tells really bad jokes in a way that they are close to funny. Silverheels has beautiful art, and a nice concept, but characters with all the depth of a wading pool... POWER PACK #2: Once again, thanks Jerry. Picked this issue up and enjoyed it quite a bit.... but it takes a bit more attention then other comics. For one thing, the characters do very logical things.... I mean, they actually ACT REALISTICALY... they forget to close doors, they have tantrums, and their powers are never subject to gaps in logic (i.e. it's not power-of-the-week time here, folks). Not for everyone, but I guess I, too, have a soft spot for kids ("now, junior, go out and cut some firewood wiiith... A HERRING!"). DNAGENTS #11: A good issue as we get into some good paranoia, good humor ("Baseman, this is Blue Leader. It's a big mother. Over.") and interesting plot. I still think Meuginot will do better on Vanity. I guess I just feel the success to this book has been Evanier (But then, I usually side with the writers..."). The letter in the back IS good. JON SABLE #15: I damned near missed this as my Comic Store proprieter forgot to put it into my stack (he sold out). Another IF YOU AREN'T READING THIS, WHY NOT? This man comes up with original situations right and left... suspenseful situation, continuity, etc. The breakdancing scene at the beginning was a classic ("Let's see if you know how to use that thing"). The back cover of E-Man WAS good... my curiousity will be whether the Russian pull-out will effect things much. Also, I'm getting a little tired of these right-wing fascist accusations Grell gets every month. Demnded silly, If you ask me. THOR #347: Uh, this is going to sound weird, but I found Thor good. Just good. Not great, not dazzaling. Just OK. I like the Mythos elements of it, but I'm a bit bored with it. Maybe I'm just a deviant.... LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES #1: As usual, excellent entertainment. Is the time scheme here the same, just as in the difference between Tales of the Teen Titans and The Teen Titans? The concept of the rebel Daxamite is really rather frightening... evil avec unlimited power. Awful nasty.... Well, that's it... 23-skidoo! "...AND his God Damned CAT!!!"
