I saw the original report on a local Chicago station.
There has been no followup to that report, indicating
specific name brands involved.

I'm not worried, as the problem appears to exist only
in microwave ovens equipped with completely electronic
controls.  My Tappan has an electromechanical on/off
switch besides its programming keypad.
