I base the order on color accuracy and best resolution. Other machines perform differently, but here's how this Sanyo-made VHS likes them in the order of best to worst: 1. Maxell HGX Gold (much better than anything else in SLP) 2. TDK Standard grade 3. Maxell Standard Grade 4. Memorex Pro grade 5. Maxell HGX 6. TDK HG 7. Fuji HG (this tape is the pits on my deck)
