Even though it's not as serious as trichinosis, it's not something I would wish on my friends, either. The heat of ordinary cooking will remove any danger. If you handle raw chicken, wash your hands before working with other foods that provide a good growth medium for salmonella and which will not be further cooked. (Mayonnaise is a good example).
