Well, I have a few things to respond! New York ain't so hot!! Neither is Washington State! I have had apartments in both, and as a tennant, you have almost no rights at all! I went to college in NY. I rented an apartment with a couple of friends. The apartment was an old house that had been converted into 3 apartments. The owner was a divorced woman, who had received the house as part of the divorce settlement. She was totally incompetant at managing it. All she knew how to do was collect the rent! She never wanted (or cared) if something broke. Then I moved to Washngton State. Supposedly one of the better places to live! Hah! We currently rent a very expensive apartment. The building was origionally built to be sold as ~$80,000 + condo's. But they didn't sell, for a lot of reasons. Anyway, we recently got notified that the owners were coming to inspect their property and would be coming through the apartments sometime over a 3 day period. If we wanted to be there, we would have had to stay at home for that entire period! We could not require them to wait until one of us got home,or even give us a specific time of their inspection! (they had given us 3 days notification! Well, our system is coming down in 10 minutes, so I'll wrap this up! Marla S. Baer ssc-vax!marla
