I wish to propose that all newsgroups be merged into one, called "net.",
since knowledge is all of a piece, so that everyone should be forced to
read everything--those Phyllis Teens who are so closed-minded as to not
want to read everything can always skip messages they don't want.

Seriously, folks--does anyone other than Rich Rosen oppose the subdivision
of net.music, or think that not subdividing net.music is going to cause all
those horrid people who don't like all music to change their minds? The
eclectic types can subscribe to net.music* if they want to.

Do I even care any more? Does anyone?
