I was asked to post the source of the article describing
the destruction of mass transit by General Motors, Standard
Oil, Firestone and others.

The article in question appears in the "This World" section
of the Sunday edition of the San Francisco Chronicle dated
1-Mar-81.  It includes details of the destruction of trolley
and inter-urban rail systems as requested.

This is one piece of history GM has not seen fit to drag up
for its 75th anniversary.
