Berkeley Lines: 11 There is something of a Christmas motif, mostly as the basis for some incredibly (hilariously) sick humor. Besides the girlfriend's story about Pop (one of the most surreal moments in recent memory, even if it didn't quite come off), there's Mom being attacked by the Christmas tree, and the Gremlin's head landing in the (Yule) fire, and the Wicked Witch's carollers. I thought the story was very firmly placed at Christmas, so much so that I felt strange watching it during the summer. Steve U.
