It is always best to record the outgoing message in your own voice
when possible, particularly when you're the only one that answers
the phone.  Many persons will hang up on tapes unless they can be
sure they have reached the "right" person, and it isn't a good
idea to leave a name or phone number on an outgoing message (it encourages
callbacks from crank callers).

Also, as I'm sure you can imagine, never say "I'm not home right now."
Say: "I'm unavailable to speak at the present time."
