"People for the American Way" is Norman Lear's anti-religious based censorship
group.  They are about as anti-religion as the ACLU and concentrate on opposing
people like the Gabler's (sp?) in Texas who present massive attacks on 
textbooks for not quoting the Bible as a scientic source on evolution and the
like.  Actually some of their attitutes about race and civil war are scarier.

I orginally join 'People for' ebcause I was concerned about the censorship
which the Religious Right was advocating at the time.  Even my pastor finds
that reasonable.  I am no longer a member/contributor becuase of the amount
of my money which they spent trying to raise more money FROM ME but I support
their ideals.  If you have some solid evidence that People For is an 
anti-religious/anti-Semitic group please let me know and I will write Mr. Lear
a very nasty letter.
