The first software I bought for the IBM PC we got in
our office was ZORK, and I've gotten pretty far, but
am currently stuck.  The only places I haven't been
able to explore that I'm sure I should have are Hades
and beyond the cyclops room.  I would appreciate any
help I can get on these.  I have rung the bell outside
the entrance to Hades, but don't know what to do next.
I have tried attacking the cyclops with every different
weapon or pointy treasure I have, but to no avail.

p.s. The list of treasures I've found so far are:
painting, coins, trunk full of jewels, crystal trident,
jewelled egg, jade figurine, ivory torch, sceptre,
scarab, gold coffin (haven't gotten it out), platinum
bar, and diamond.  If anyone would like clues on how to
find any of these send me mail.
