Recently people have been talking about "dropping" or "dropping
levels", as in "I start dropping around level 17".  Correct me if
I'm wrong: I think they mean going downstairs as soon as they can
find the stairwell.

Just now somebody was telling about a game he won in 5.3, and
referred to killing two griffins and then he "dropped the amulet". 
How's that again?  I don't know what he's talking about.  Can
someone enlighten me?
