Thanks in advance for any help. These are terms from frp games (like AD&D (TM) TSR). Hit Dice: This is how many 8-sided dice to roll to get the monster's hit-points. Hit dice also tells how easily the monster can hit you. Ever notice that you hit better at higher levels? This is partly because you too have more hit-dice (in your case, they're called levels). This is why the dragon, griffin and jabberwock are such pains. Lots of hit-dice. ndm: means n dice.
