holy sacrifice

Is there anyone out there who has found the Ark in this
game and found the solution? I have played on and off
for a year and have gotten to the map room, displayed
the correct mountain , and tried digging w/ the shovel
but haven't been able to dig up the ark.

I would welcome any hints or complete solutions.
