Last year I bought a cheapo lawnmower -- about $140, made by some unknown
company in South Carolina, but with a Briggs & Stratton engine. The mower
did fine by me last year, and after 7 months of non-use, I got it out last
weekend and started it right up after a few tugs. So far, it seems like I
made the right choice, considering my lawn is small, and I don't need any
fancy features to get a large "bandwidth", or save my strength.

I would be very interested in what other people think of buying Brand X
versus Sears, Toro, John Deere, etc.
