Message-ID: <187@imsvax.UUCP> Date: Tue, 29-May-84 11:44:45 EDT Article-I.D.: imsvax.187 Posted: Tue May 29 11:44:45 1984 Date-Received: Fri, 1-Jun-84 08:38:06 EDT Organization: IMS Inc, Rockville MD Lines: 19 My mother has always been fond of bamboo. As a result, she acquired and installed a small (three-stalk) clump in the back yard. Now that we're up to a couple hundred stalks, we are intensely inter- ested in removing it -- without removing the pines or dogwood among which it has arisen. We are containing it by planting sheet aluminum around the yard, but that won't prevent the forest from forming in the middle. Is there any way of killing or neutralizing the bamboo, short of a rototilling? No, we don't mind using chemicals, although we would like to stop short of re-enacting Love Canal. Mail responses, please, and I'll summarize if there's interest. Don Whytock ...!allegra!umcp-cs!eneevax!imsvax!djw
