      A friend of mine has a balcony that is so liked by pigeons that it
has becone almost unusable.  Is there some kind of chemical or something
that will keep the birds away but not kill or harm them?  Putting wire over
the outside of the balcony would obviously not be acceptable.

      Has anyone else conquered this problem?
