Experience: The candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in Unix internals and design/implementation of software written in C running on the Unix operating system. Additional experience with Prolog, Modula-2, database, and/or networking will weigh heavily in the candidates favor. Duties: To assist in research/development of a data oriented network operating system. The system will initially run on a supermini class machine, and eventually on a Ethernet based network of > 64 MicroVax computers. The successful candidate will be expected to manage a group of 2-3 programmers, and to participate with faculty members in the design and implementation of the system. Requirements: 1. MS or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. 2. Minimum 2 years experience in Unix internals or Unix related software development. 3. A good measure of enthusiasm. Compensation: Salary range: $34K - $40K, commensurate with experience.
