For those periodically appraised in their jobs, here is a guideline
to what your manager really means:

average employee --> not too bright
keen sense of humour --> tells lots of rotated jokes
demonstrates leadership qualities --> has a loud voice and gets away 
				      with almost anything
maintains a professional attitude --> snobish, treats you like dirt
socially active --> drinks heavily
wife socially active --> wife drinks too
shows good judgement --> lucky
gets on well with everyone --> coward
keen analyst --> thoroughly confused
expresses himself well --> speaks English
spends extra hours working --> miserable home life
ambitious --> buys boss drinks 
quick thinking --> offers well-sounding excuses for major blunders
