Here is a brief history of the Escort Radar Detector company,
as presented by its president at the annual meeting and reported
in the Wall Street Journal:

"In the beginning there were dinosaurs.  Then they died and
became oil.  In 1973 the Arabs cut off the oil, the speed
limit dropped to 55 and Escort was born.  Any questions?"
