Annie was originally "Otto" - yeah, a HE. But when the editor looked over the cartoonist's works, something didn't seem right. He finally figured it out: Otto was too - effeminate. The cartoonist agreed, and Otto became Annie. -- The Ice Floe of Larry Bickford {decvax,ihnp4,ucbvax}!{decwrl,sun}!qubix!lab decwrl!qubix!lab@Berkeley.ARPA
