This site was on the net up till late '82, and had no USENET access
from then until early '84. I've been catching up like mad. So what
on earth is "BLKTRAN" anyway? I see from the referenced message it
was being discussed in Oct '83, which puts it squarely in our
knowledge gap.

When I first saw the {acronym? term? abbreviation?}, I thought 
"transit", so was guessing it hasd something to do with busses
and subways. Since then, I have guessed that it more likely has
to do with FORTRAN, this being the environment it is, after all.

So is it some variety of parody of FORTRAN phraseology using
stereotyped black cultural terms? Or what?
