I can just see it now...

1- Minority group member sees offensive joke on netnews.

2- Riot starts.

3- Ronnie calls in the Marines.

4- Escalation.

5- Nuclear holocaust.

So it seems very reasonable to equate getting offended
at a joke with nuclear war.
