<Don't pay attention to the first lines>
I agree that Control-Ls are incorrect in riddles. 
My system hates them, and clears the screen upon receipts.

I do, however, have a moderately good way to deal with them
when I happen on to them.  I go back one article, and "more"
the thing through a filter 1 line in size:

	s- | more -1

You can use many tricks to rush "more" through the verbose
header "s" (save) generates.
