There was an earlier article asking about C++.
It's an extension of the C language,
designed and implemented by Bjarne Stroustrup at Bell Labs, Murray Hill, NJ.
It's based on his early creation, the class preprocessor,
which was described in Sigplan Notices, January, 198?.

It will be available as soon as Bells (AT&T's? or whatever they're calling
it this week) lawyers approve the idea.
