Here is what I learned: Tartan is a company consisting at least partly of the compiler experts from Carnegie-Mellon in Pittsburgh. These people have produced very fast Bliss compilers, and they are now commercializing their compiler expertise. They are producing a C and a Modual II compiler (and perhaps others - I didn't ask). The modula II is supposed to be ready in August for 4.2BSD and about two months later for SYSTEM V. They were very nice when I called, and they are sending me the information on their products and licensing areements. The address is: Tartan Laboratories, Inc. 477 Melwood Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15213 412-621-2210. They are very nice if you call them.
